What makes a businessperson big?

Have you ever wondered what those big giants’ founders had that others don’t? What makes them and their businesses so big?

Now there’s no set formula to make a business successful, but there are a few factors which are common in almost all of them.

Courage

First they had the courage to take risks. Some of them even left their well paying jobs because they believed in their vision. Piyush Bansal, left his job at Microsoft because he wanted to do something big.

Now that doesn’t mean that everyone should just leave their jobs to pursue their entrepreneurial journey. Actually a corporate job gives you first hand experience and a glance into the corporate world. It is of great significance in order to know how things work at a corporation.

The problem occurs when we get too comfortable that we forget our aspirations and give into the luxuries of a well paying job. As someone once said, “A salary is the drug they give you to forget your dreams.”

Belief

Second is they believed in their vision and had confidence that they are the ones who can do wonders. Mark Zuckerberg refused to sell Facebook when Yahoo! offered to buy it for $1 billion in the company’s early years.

If you are not this confident in the success of your venture, then what’s the point of even starting it? But where does that confidence come from?

Well, he had a thought-out vision for Facebook and knew where he could take it. That bolstered his confidence to believe in himself. A well crafted plan along with market analysis before starting something can do wonders. One should not jump into something without completing these prerequisites.

Creators not immitators

Lastly, they created something that did not exist before. While Larry Page and Sergey Brin revolutionized the world of search engines, Mark Zuckerberg changed our outlook on social media. They did not do something that everyone else was doing, and that’s the beauty of their work.

They realized a potential market gap and filled it through their ventures. They created a need for something that did not exist. The next Google or Facebook won’t be the next big thing. It will be something which does not exist today.

In order to make your business a success, you need to understand what made these businesspeople so big. Every business has different demands, but every big business person has more or less the same aspirations and mindset – to solve problems by building something impactful.
